Lobby Day 2019

Register ASAP for our annual lobby day. We need to know whether you can offer rides to other members, whether you need a ride, your dietary restrictions, and whether you need childcare.

This year we are pushing forward legislation on these critical issues:

  • A Postconviction/Community Review Board: Incarceration overwhelmingly hurts communities of color, and in Washington our incarcerated loved ones have no opportunity to have their case reviewed to come home early. We are fighting to change that by enacting a Community Review Board so our incarcerated friends and family can have a chance to come home early.

  • Universal Health Care: We have SO MANY bills to fight for this session that would expand access to free or affordable health care to all Washington residents. We need you there to make it clear to lawmakers that we want everyone to have access to health care, and that our communities are better off with Universal Health Care.

  • Eviction Reform and Tenant Protections: We are enduring the worst housing crisis our region has ever experienced. It's beyond time our lawmakers take action to make our eviction process more humane and ensure tenants can hold their landlords accountable. You can email your lawmaker TODAY to vote our Eviction Reform bills out of committee.

  • Keep Washington Working: Our police should not be working with ICE to target our community members, regardless of documentation status. We need to enact these immigrant protections to keep our communities strong, healthy and safe.

Join us for our first-ever Social Justice Awards Dinner! We’ve typically hosted our awards as a breakfast, but this year is different.

Our yearly Social Justice Awards give us an opportunity to recognize our members and their work. These fights are so important so it's just as important to highlight our members' accomplishments.

This year our Keynote Speaker is Nina Turner of Our Revolution.
