join the fight
Trump's decision to end DACA is a cruel attack on all immigrant families in our communities. Call your members of Congress at 1-888- 908-6307 and urge them to pass a clean Dream Act of 2017 (S. 1617) without border security and enforcement provisions and tell them we also need comprehensive immigration reform.

For the past two decades, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has increased detention of undocumented immigrants, causing many communities to fear for their future. Auburn residents are experiencing increased concern about potential and actual federal statements and policies that will jeopardize immigrants, communities of color, Muslims, and the LGBTQ community. As a community, we urged our Auburn City Council members to take action to ensure every Auburn resident feels safe in their own community.
Through a Town Hall and several Council meetings, we urged Auburn City Council to pass an ordinance that will prohibit city officials and local police from inquiring about documentation status and will reduce racial profiling and discrimination. In the end, we won Resolution 5284. While this wasn’t the outcome we wanted, we are still celebrating this as a victory. Five months ago, the Councilmembers were debating over the legitimacy of the fear of the community, not recognizing the privilege a citizen holds. Over this 5-month period, Councilmembers have had to struggle to hear the real stories of communities and to acknowledge the racism and inequities in their city. So we will continue to build power. Our communities will continue to fight because they are tired of living in fear and want to build a better future for their children.
