This fight is sustained at the Capitol throughout the off-session in the relationships and endorsements we make with lawmakers and during the session through our members’ grassroots lobbying efforts. We have been making a difference and will continue to move the dial.

HEalth care Access & Affordability

Access to affordable, quality health care remains a crisis in Washington, with rising costs, medical debt, and insurance barriers keeping essential care out of reach for too many families. Every year, thousands of Washingtonians delay or forgo treatment due to financial burdens, exacerbating health disparities and deepening economic insecurity. At WashingtonCAN, we believe health care is a fundamental right, not a privilege tied to income or employment. That’s why we partner with Health Care is a Human Right (HCHR) to push for bold policies during the legislative session that will move Washington closer to a system that prioritizes people over profits. Through advocacy, organizing, and direct action, we fight for expanding coverage, lowering prescription drug costs, increasing healthcare transparency, and ensuring universal access—because no one should have to choose between paying for medical care or basic necessities.
