Lobby Day Was Just the Beginning — Stay in the Fight with WACAN

Lobby Day: Community Power in Action

This year’s Lobby Day was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when our community shows up together. Members came out in huge numbers, bringing passion, clarity, and lived experience to conversations with lawmakers about the issues that matter most — housing, healthcare, and justice. Over the course of the day, we met with legislators from more than half of Washington’s legislative districts, maximizing every available meeting slot and reaching districts that rarely hear directly from grassroots advocates.

Many members showed up to represent communities that are too often left out of Olympia conversations, ensuring that voices from across the state were present and heard.

Just as importantly, Lobby Day built real community across our membership. New and longtime members connected, shared stories, and strengthened relationships that extend far beyond a single day at the Capitol. Taken together, this made it clear: this was one of our strongest Lobby Days to date, both in turnout and in impact, at a time our communities need it more.

The energy and momentum from Lobby Day don’t end in Olympia. We’re carrying this enthusiasm through the rest of the legislative session — continuing to advocate, organize, and push for change in meetings, calls, emails, and coordinated action throughout the year. Lobby Day showed what we can do together. Now we’re building on it.
