Health Care for All-WA and Physicians for a National Health Program-WA are presenting in collaboration to raise awareness and uplift our Somali Neighbors. This is a monthly virtual speaker series that takes place every third Wednesday of each month, but has been rescheduled for the fourth week of March in order to not interfere with Ramadan celebrations. We hope to see you there!

While our success in passing HB 1131 marks an important step toward greater equity, transparency, and intention within Washington's Clemency & Pardons Board review process, our work is far from over. It remains vital that our communities continue advocating for incarcerated individuals and stay informed about the clemency process in Washington State.

The Freedom Project WA provides critical support in reentry services, housing stability, and trauma-informed care to individuals and families impacted by the injustices of the incarceration system. Their work has transformed lives across the state, and we proudly stand alongside their efforts to dismantle unjust systems and uplift those most impacted.

Whole Washington hosts weekly phone baking events on Thursdays from 4:30 - 6:00 pm. These phone banking events are hosted via Zoom, so the. facilitator is able to support you as. you make calls. These will be super easy calls, targeting Whole WA supporters, asking them to attend local events or otherwise get involved—so we can win. We hope to see you there!

This October, thousands of immigrants in Washington will lose their access to healthcare just because they're immigrants. 3,000 seniors and people with disabilities will lose their caregivers. And 30,000 total immigrants will lose their health insurance.

Washington lawmakers have stepped up to fund care for some of us — but under the budgets they've proposed, most of us will still lose our care.

We need to send a clear message in Olympia: no one should lose access to care just because of where they were born. There's still time for our state lawmakers to fix the budget and fund care for all. Let's join SEIU 775 on March 3rd in Olympia to tell them: no cuts to care for immigrants. We hope to see you there!

WashingtonCAN members from across the state come together in Olympia each year for our Annual Lobby Day, a day where community members meet directly with lawmakers to advocate for the issues shaping our lives and our communities. From housing and healthcare to economic justice and the wellbeing of incarcerated people, Lobby Day is where we bring our stories, our priorities, and our collective power to the Capitol.

This year, we are partnering with House Our Neighbors (HON) to grow our impact. After years of working together in Seattle and winning real changes through community-led organizing, our groups are ready to take that momentum statewide. By joining forces, we are mobilizing people who believe in stable housing, accessible healthcare, fair economic policy, and a Washington where everyone has what they need to thrive.

Lobby Day is our moment to show legislators that our communities are organized, united, and ready to lead — and we want you there with us.

All those leading their legislative districts during Lobby Day 2026 are highly encouraged to join us at our Lobby Day Leads training! You will learn how to lead a lobby day group, the different pieces of paper on lobby day, get in-depth information about our legislative agenda, and practice your overall leadership skills—all while making bracelets and enjoying time with your fellow leads! Attend in support of Zahid Chaudhry at his federal habeas hearing (Chaudhry v. Noem). Zahid is a decorated disabled U.S. veteran in a wheelchair and a Washington State public servant. He is also a loving husband and father of U.S. citizen children. This hearing centers on due process, lawful detention, and whether the government has met its obligations under the Constitution. Please show calm, respectful support and bear witness to the proceedings. Your presence alone speaks volumes.

Why We’re Gathering

In February, Burien voters passed a $21.10 minimum wage — a clear demand for dignity, stability, and fair pay for workers. But now the City of Burien and local wealthy corporate interests are in court trying to weaken or overturn that vote. We’re coming together to say: our votes matter, and every worker deserves a living wage.

What’s at Stake

The lawsuit against the minimum wage is backed by business owners like David Meinert, who has a troubling history. He previously settled a class-action wage theft case brought by Seattle workers, and has partnerships using tax payer dollars with the city of Burien.

These are the kinds of employers fighting to roll back our community’s decision — people who already have a record of not respecting workers’ rights or safety. Even after over 8,000 voters showed up to demand a higher wage.

Our Message

This isn’t about one man — it’s about the broader fight. When powerful people and corporate interests sue to block a living wage, they’re telling us our votes don’t matter and our work doesn’t count. We’re standing up to say: workers deserve respect, fair pay, and safety — and we won’t let that be taken away.

Public education and childcare investments are under attack by our federal government. If we want to protect these investments in our future, we must come together and fight back.
Join educators, childcare providers, families, students, legislators, and other community members at the Education Funding Labor Forum!

We seek to build a broad coalition across our entire education system, pre-K to higher ed, so we can discuss the struggles we are all facing, while also dreaming about the world we want to see. We’ll talk about how funding is essential to build the world class education system our students and families deserve and what we can all do to push for these investments. 

The event will include a panel discussion, breakout sessions, and time to talk with legislators, school board directors, union leaders and community stakeholders. Come talk with school board directors and legislators before the 2026 Legislative Session kicks off!

Join House Our Neighbors and the Complete Communities Coalition at city hall to rally for a comprehensive plan that supports social housing!

The City Council is considering over 100 amendments to the mayor’s proposed comp plan draft, and we want to make sure all of the amendments that support housing affordability and the connected communities make it through.

Council is holding a public hearing on the 12th and it’s important we make our voices heard. Join House Our Neighbors and the Complete Communities Coalition at 1:00pm at city hall for a short rally, and then sign up for in-person comment. Sign up opens at 2:00 pm and public comment begins at 3:00 pm. If you are unable to attend in person, you can sign up for virtual comment in the morning. Virtual sign up should open at 8:30 am and comment will begin at 9:30 am.
